Singer ANASTACIA's last album was "more aggressive" than she had intended - because she was reeling from the news she had breast cancer.
The pop star went under the knife in 2003 after she was diagnosed with the disease, but continued to make 2004 LP Anastacia.
But the anguish she was going through in her personal life was unintentionally reflected on the record.
She says: "The poor girl had to go through cancer on the last album, so what do you expect?
"I was a little touched by the death dog back then. It ended up being a bit more aggressive than I probably would have gone. It sort of just ended up coming out like; 'Oh, great. I've just written a song about my toxic titties!'
"It's just a blessing, in a way, to have a second chance, to go on and not feel that I was tainted by it."

11/23/08 Anastacia we are sisters in the fight for Breast Cancer. I will be a 10 year survivor on June 18, 2009. I was 41 years old when I had my first base line mammogram that found I had invasive ductal carcinoma with one in eight women diagnosed and the type of Breast Cancer most common that women are diagnosed with. My maternal aunt past away at 42 with the same disease. I have to say the brave, strong, care free person I always enjoyed being was like being put on an endangered species list and taking from the beauty of the wild and put in the cage of being placed in the land of the unknown and uncertainty of the life I enjoyed so much. One thing for sure I knew I had to roll with the changes and learn to adapt from a near flawless body to almost an overnight mangled one breasted beast. All I can say is that having cancer made me realize the gift of life is fragile and that each day is not promised to any of us. I also feel that when something has been taking from you that you receive 100 times more gifts from God to share and relate to others that need messengers like us. Congrat's on your album influenced by your cancer battle and the love you have for your husband and son's. You have a special place in the world now and a new title. Your music and your experience places you as a role model and your beauty and experienced shared gives you the title of being a very beautiful educator Earth Angel. I'll look forward listening to your new release. Wishing you well for many years. Sincerely, Tuesday USA
