AMY WINEHOUSE - AMY WINEHOUSE COULD HAVE BIGGEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR

AMY WINEHOUSE is set to have the biggest-selling album of the year with her second album BACK TO BLACK.

The album, which features the single I TOLD YOU I WAS NO GOOD, has sold more than 1.5 million copies in the UK since its release at the end of 2006.

It has achieved five platinum sales awards.

The songstress' debut album FRANK sold 300,000 copies when it was released in 2003.

She has been nominated for six Grammy Awards including Best New Artist and Best Album.

Matt Phillips, spokesman for record labels body the BPI, told the BBC: "Amy Winehouse's Back To Black is in pole position to be the year's biggest seller.

"But more than 6 million albums were sold last week, and as this weekend is likely to be the biggest of the year for music sales, Leona may close the gap."

Other albums in the running include X-Factor winner LEONA LEWIS's debut, SPIRIT which was the fastest -selling debut album in UK history.

MIKA's album LIFE IN CARTOON MOTION is currently the third best selling album.

Meanwhile, AMY WINEHOUSE was recently arrested in connection with an investigation into perverting the course of justice.

She has since been released on bail.

The troubled singer has received an invitation for Christmas dinner from BRYAN ADAMS.

The Canadian has invited the VALERIE singer to join him at his Caribbean home.
