BEN AFFLECK can understand why late SUPERMAN star GEORGE REEVES may have shot himself, because the intensity of fame has left him depressed too. Affleck is playing Reeves in HOLLYWOODLAND, a new movie about the actor who played the Man Of Steel on TV from 1952 to 1958. Reeves apparently killed himself in 1959 because he couldn't handle his celebrity status. Affleck says, "More and more, people are paying attention to actors' private lives - even the mundane aspects. "Movies become commercial breaks in the soap opera of actors' lives. "There are some things I understand about George Reeves' life because of the kind of life I have. "To audiences, George was the Man Of Steel. There was more to him than that and that frustrated him, and that's what I can understand. "Sometimes an audience can conflate an actor's life with the character he's playing."
