BRYAN ADAMS once tried to impress a passing hitchhiker - by playing her one of his unreleased songs. The singer was travelling with his songwriting partner, drummer Jim Vallance, when they picked up a drifter and played their song Don't Turn Me Away for her. He recalls, "I remember finishing a song and Jim and I were driving down the street and we saw somebody hitchhiking, so we stopped, picked her up and we played her the song. We were so desperate for someone to hear it because we were really excited about it. It was such a thrilling time. "The hitchhiker - it was a girl, I think - was like, 'Okay, that's very nice, now can you just drop me off here?'"
