LILLO BRANCATO - ACCUSED ACTOR EDITED OUT OF MOVIE
Actor LILLO BRANCATO's screen time in new movie SATURDAY MORNING has been dramatically reduced by the film's outraged director - following his implication in the killing of a New York police officer. The 31-year-old Bronx star - who is awaiting trial in the shooting death of New York Police Department Detective Daniel Enchautegui - was due to feature predominantly in the film, alongside George Wendt and Beth Ostrosky. However, director Rob Greenberg has limited Brancato's role to "a series of walk-ons" because he can't give exposure to a man allegedly responsible for such a heinous crime. He tells New York gossip column PageSix.com, "My brother-in-law is on the force. I felt absolutely horrible when I heard about (the killing). I just kept thinking about him, my sister, and especially my nephews." Greenberg will fill in the gaps left by Brancato's axed scenes with a mixture of creative editing and the use of voice-overs.
