In a statement, Mark Brittain, whose title is "head of commercial, American Idol, 19 Entertainment," said, "Utilizing the power of the American Idol phenomenon, we can provide a truly one-of-a-kind experience" in which those taking part will receive training from surprise celebrity guest performing artists, favorite former American Idol contestants. In their announcement, the producers emphasized that the camp does not require an audition and does not guarantee entrance into the TV competition.
