Zowie: 'Rock 'N' Roll Life Is Not For Me'
DAVID BOWIE's son ZOWIE BOWIE is philosophical about having had to endure the worst of his dad's drink and drug excesses, because it made him embrace a clean-living lifestyle. The 34-year-old commercials director, who prefers to be known as DUNCAN JONES, put up with seeing Bowie at his most troubled during the 1970s and 1980s. But despite being loyal to his dad, Jones has concluded that people who live a hardcore rock 'n' roll life are usually "a bit funny". He says, "If you want to do that to yourself, don't complain about it! I've always played sport and enjoyed reading. "I don't take drugs, I don't smoke, I do drink a little bit, but just with friends. "People who live the rock 'n' roll lifestyle I find a little bit funny. "Yes, it has highs. But the lows you get out of it are completely self-inflicted."
