Young's Message To Farm Aid Fans
NEIL YOUNG is urging music fans to continue supporting family farms in America as the FARM AID festival he helped to launch plans ahead for it's 20th year in 2005.
The HEART OF GOLD hitmaker was among the headliners at Saturday's (18SEP04) Farm Aid concert near Seattle, Washington, and he used his set to urge fans to buy produce from family farms.
Young reminded the 20,000 people present that America is still losing more than 300 agricultural areas a week, adding, "Buy food grown by family farms and families living in a house; not by a board of directors at the top of a building in Chicago."
The rock star also used his performance to dedicate his hit POCAHONTAS to the local Muckleshoot Indian Tribe.
Other acts at this year's (04) Farm Aid included JERRY LEE LEWIS, founder WILLIE NELSON, LUCINDA WILLIAMS, JOHN MELLENCAMP and KID ROCK.21/09/2004 09:10
