Young Snubs Spears Songwriting Offer

Eighties singer PAUL YOUNG has turned down the chance to pen tunes for pop babe BRITNEY SPEARS - because he claims her music "lacks any credibility".

The WHEREVER I LAY MY HAT hitmaker, 48, admits he was offered a songwriting contract for Spears and other young stars, but decided against it on quality grounds.

Young says, "I have been asked about writing modern pop songs for Britney and the like, but I just can't face writing for people like that, for that market.

"It lacks any credibility."
