It's nice that Yorke comes clean about this dilemna of reconciling being a mega rock star and all it's excesses and his intent live in some perfect organic way without activating any karma. That's a tough gig being the perfect human being. He shouldn't fret too much he's sure to fail even more in life. I wonder if he's disappointed that when he walks in the snow he leaves footprints that may contain some dirt in his wake. I think his dream is to be a harmless whisp of air with vocal cords. Radiohead is a great band all the way. |

bobeast, that was a brilliant piece. Thanks for posting.Goodbye Natalie, you are consistently correct.useyourcommonsenses, LOL and welcome. It is always easy to identify the inane remarks of the Left. They are fraught with hysterical threats, laced with nonsense, and rife with insults. Of course, facts are not on their side, so they can never win a logical argument. They rely on ad hominem attacks, without even knowing that by doing so, they are signaling their loss by default. The "Henny Penny" approach to life is ancient. Fundamentally, there is a segment of the population who are frightened and the only way they can "feel better" about themselves is to loudly proclaim the end of the world. And, because they are faithless, they always blame humans. [Don't you love the way they tack on the "we are all guilty of the same thing." In fact, we are NOT all guilty of the same thing.]They (with false bravado) claim that they "know" things that others do not "realize." In fact, they "know" nothing, and they do not "realize" that their ignorance is keeping them in mental bondage.[Their bias prevents them from reading with objectivity. Their bias prevents them from seeing another point of veiw. Their bias prevents them from admitting when they are wrong. Their bias prevents them from achieving mental and emotional freedom.] Yes, in the 70s, we were going to freeze to death and now we are going to drown by the oceans automatic rising due to global warming. The only thing the "alarmists" do is to sell papers and provide topics for the evening news. Soon, this latest bit of silliness will be over, and I wait with wide-eyed wonder at what Barnum's boys will fall for next. PS. The majority of the "scientists" who have lobbied for sharing the wealth (the Kyoto Treaty) are SOCIAL scientists. Yes, the very same scholars who made certain that their schedule NEVER included any math or science classes. PPS. If you haven't yet read "Fear" by Michael Crichton, it's a quick fun read and provides some quick answers to the nonsense coming from the Left. |

Wow, as if modern day environmentalism wasn't whiny enough, now we have to listen to them apologize for their own hypocrisy. So, if one acknowledges one's own hypocrisy they can absolve theirself of the guilt should one choose to continue down the same path of hypocrisy? I think I'm starting to like the modern environmentalist movement. Jesus is old hat, I want to roll with that crowd instead! The real message from Mr. Radiohead is this: "Yes, I am a hypocrite, but the money I make to spread my infinite wisdom to you all through my music takes precedence over my true beliefs".Thank you sir, you are an inspiration to us all!-Rictus |

Yea, why don't we all just move into caves, wearing only the woven fibers of grasses that have naturally died off, and eating only roots of plants which grow in abundance nearby. Then we can save the earth. And then what? We might as kill ourselves so as not to offend the "delicate" nature of, well, nature.Or perhaps, instead of worshiping some inanimate persona like the "mother earth" we can worry about seriously *important* issues: The Alan Guttmacher Institute reports approximately 22 million legal abortions were reported World Wide in 1987. Approximately 1.5 million children were killed by abortion in the US last year. Recycling your #2 plastics will not help these children to get a chance to breath.852 million people across the world are hungry, up from 842 million a year ago. Every day, more than 16,000 children die from hunger-related causes--one child every five seconds. In essence, hunger is the most extreme form of poverty, where individuals or families cannot afford to meet their most basic need for food. Not driving a car will not put bread in the hands of hungry people. It only makes you feel better about what a "super-duper eco-concious non-consumer" you are. Yippee. The planet Earth is incapable of "caring" that you do anything "for it" but millions of actual people out there can use all this energy for something that *will* make a difference. |

Thom Yorke says he is a hypocrite, "as we all are." I beg to differ with him. Many of us realized that when the leaders of the movement are Mikhail Gorbachev, Bill Clinton, and Al Gore it would be best to think for ourselves than accept the pronouncements of people who are infamous for not even knowing the truth, much less being able to speak the truth... |
