Yorke Attacks Ticket Touts

LATEST: RADIOHEAD frontman THOM YORKE is urging touts selling tickets for Friends Of The Earth's The Big Ask Live concert to donate profits to the charity. The JUST hitmaker is appalled by the number of tickets that have appeared at inflated prices on auction website eBay.co.uk, and is appealing to sellers to do the right thing and make a contribution to the cause. The tickets, which originally cost GBP55 ($94), are currently attracting bids of up to GBP300 ($510) for a pair. The concert will include performances by Yorke, SUPER FURRY ANIMALS' GRUFF RHYS and folk singer KATE RUSBY. Yorke says, "Might I suggest that those selling their tickets on eBay for stupid money give a contribution... say 30 per cent of their proceeds, back to Friends Of The Earth, for whose benefit we are all doing this show. Seems only fair, unless you're shallow - don't you think?" A spokesman adds, "We have done everything within our power to ensure that fans had access to the tickets at the price fixed by Friends Of The Earth - for example by limiting purchases to two tickets per person."
