Yoko Snubs New Lennon Material

YOKO ONO has refused to co-operate with singer/songwriter BRUCE BIERMAN's plans to release material he composed with her late husband JOHN LENNON.

Little-known rocker Bierman struck up a friendship with the IMAGINE star in New York City during the 1970s and the pair soon began a composing and recording partnership.

After Bierman announced plans to release the unheard Lennon material, named CENTRAL PARK, SURPRISE and ONE LONELY TEAR last year (05), he hoped Ono would give her blessing to the recordings.

He says, "I had a meeting and sent Yoko my recordings at her request. I thought she would be interested in getting this stuff out. I was disappointed she chose not to assist.

"Isn't it time people heard something new of Lennon, rather than the same repackaged material?"

It would be nice to hear genuine new Lennon material (so long as it is genuine), work co-written by John Lennon. It is possible that it was probably during the "so called lost weekend period of John" which therefore is probably why Yoko does not want to know. Surely she must know that us fans would like to hear work that John was involve in.
