Writers Fight For Beatles Songs In New Movie
The movie follows the exploits of TransAtlantic lovers in 1960s Britain.
The film-makers are in negotiations to secure re-recording rights for the project, set to feature 17-18 Beatles songs.
La Frenais says, "Everyone has a memory associated with the Beatles. Whether it was your first kiss or the first time you saw that girl standing across from you at the high school dance, chances are that the DJ was playing a Beatles song."
American film-maker Jessie Nelson' request to use Beatles originals in his 2001 film I Am Sam was refused - instead he used covers of songs like ACROSS THE UNIVERSE and I'M LOOKING THROUGH YOU by artists including Pearl Jam's Eddie VEDDER, Rufus Wainwright and The Wallflowers.19/10/2004 21:08
