Winslet Returns To The Big Screen
British superstar Kate Winslet is making a return to the big screen - and is already the favourite to take the lead in eagerly-anticipated adaptation THE CONSTANT GARDENERS.
The Titanic beauty - who married American Beauty director Sam Mendes last May (03) and gave birth to son Joe in December (03) - has met with OSCAR-nominated film-maker Fernando Meirelles in New York on Wednesday (4FEB04) to discuss the project.
If she wins the role, Kate will play opposite acclaimed actor RALPH FIENNES as TESSA QUAYLE - the campaigning lawyer wife of a British Foreign Office diplomat based in Kenya.
The film - based on John Le Carre's novel - will start shooting in the eastern African country at the end of March (04).
