Westlife To Take On The Ratpack

Irish boyband WESTLIFE are following in the footsteps of British crooner ROBBIE WILLIAMS - by releasing a RAT PACK cover album this Christmas (04).

The FLYING WITHOUT WINGS quartet will cover a host of songs made famous by FRANK SINATRA, DEAN MARTIN and SAMMY DAVIS JR and shoot a TV special to tie in with its release.

And the TV event will be extra special for the boys, as a host of celebrities will be in attendance.

A source says, "It's all SIMON COWELL's idea.

"He reckons the album will be a huge hit. All those songs like STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT, THE LADY IS A TRAMP, I'VE GOT YOU UNDER MY SKIN and MY WAY are such classics that they just can't fail.

"The TV show has just been sorted out. It'll appeal to their fans of all age groups. The boys have just finished their tour and couldn't wait to get their teeth sunk into something new."
