West Impressed With Bush-Rant Impact

Rapper KANYE WEST was stunned by the impact of his anti-GEORGE W BUSH rant during a live Hurricane Katrina telethon in September (05).

West claimed the US President "doesn't care about black people", angered by what he perceived to be Bush's slow response to the natural disaster that struck America's Gulf coast in August (05).

The improvised outburst caused shockwaves and divided the nation. But West is unrepentant.

He says, "What surprised me most was the impact of my voice on NBC. It's just magical that I can say something that's a popular opinion and it really has an impact.

"I didn't think about Bush until the telethon. I saw him (on TV) - I'm like, 'Wait a second, dude, that guy over there, he doesn't care.' But America was already headed that way. I think it was a common opinion."

I am not suprised at all that Kanye West is impressed with the "Bush-Rant Impact" but I doubt that he is willing to understand the impact it had on ALL Americans.Kanye West and many celebrities went on TV to raise money for the Katrina hurricane victims. One of largest natural disasters in American history. This disaster played on our television sets 24/7 the first few days. It seemed that everyone had family or friends who live in the 3 states that were hit by Katrina. We all cried & prayed. We all pulled together in our home towns to provide personal needs and housing. The most sad thing today is that while celebrities have the "stage" or the "platform" if you will, most of are never heard. Kanyne West was not the only celebrity to rant & trash the President of the United States during a celebrity fund raiser...The Rolling Stone magazine reported that at a fund raiser in New York City, Bette Midler came out on stage and said "I wrote the Republicans a letter -- I told them to f**k themselves." I am a huge Bette Midler fan for many years & I'm sorry but I don't care if she hates republicans (I am a republican) and I don't care if she hates the president but I believe it cheapens her while those who hate Bush would consider her their hero... like Kanye West. What I would like to know is this... do celebrities really care about those of us who disagree with them politically? I don't think so... Geroge Clooney has class & he has a better way to tell the public what he believes about different issues. I'm not in George's head, but I did grow up where his father was a news anchor, his aunt, Rosemary Clooney was a gracious lady, and I believe with the Clooney family knows how to entertain us and make political statements without hurting innocent people out in TV land. We are all not politicians and we go on with our lives no matter who is president and most of us love more than we hate.Is a matter of fact, most us try to be optimistic and to wipe out hate. Why does Kanye West flaunt his bling-bling and his wealth and then accuse George W. Bush of not liking black people? How many people does Kanye help bring out the projects? How many families is Kanye housing right now? Some families may be two years getting their home rebuilt. There is an article at cnsnews.com - Statistics Suggest Race Not a Factor in Katrina Deaths -- 12/14/2005 ... The article says that "statistics released by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals suggest fewer than half of the victims of Hurricane Katrina were black, and that whites died at the highest rate of all races in New Orleans."Kanye West & "The Nation of Islam" accuse President Bush of deliberatley blowing up the levee in New Orleans to kill black people. I love the truth and the truth always comes out. But I am beginning to realize how easily people lie... people of all political views. Too many people consider the lies to be good lies that will push their personal agendas. There is nothing about the Preisdent of the United States that should support Kanyne's claim that "George Bush doesn't like black people" because not only does he have blacks in high positions in his cabinet, but the black civil rights leaders in America do not recognize these people, like Secretary of State Condi Rice for example, they call her an "Uncle Tom" they believe that blacks should put the Democrat party first above all else. They have published this.I live in the Atlanta area where we have some of the best black colleges in America, the most talented celebrities & corporate leaders & business owners. Their children drive BMWs & Mercedes. I feel cheap seperating their success out from anyone else, but my point is this ... Anyone can be a success in America no matter your race, religion or ethnic background.Kanye West is dead wrong about George W. Bush.
