Washington Jokes About J.LO At Premiere

OSCAR-winning actor Denzel Washington made a cruel joke about JENNIFER LOPEZ's weight after she upstaged him at the Hollywood premiere of his new movie Man on Fire.

J.LO caused a media stampede on Sunday (18APR04), when she hit the red carpet alone at the event.

Although Lopez does not appear in the film, she attended to support her new beau Marc Anthony, who arrived separately from her.

As Washington observed the frenzy the voluptuous New York native had sparked, PEOPLE magazine reports he quipped, "She's real good in this picture. Phenomenal. She was much skinnier in the picture."

But he quickly realised the error of his words when he added, "I'm sorry, that was mean."
