Tv Company To Be Punished For Jackson Flash
American network CBS TV is set to receive a record fine as punishment for airing JANET JACKSON's infamous 'wardrobe malfunction' at the SUPERBOWL earlier this year (FEB04).
CBS is facing charges of indecency from the FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION (FCC) after JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE removed part of 37-year-old Jackson's outfit mid-performance, revealing most of her right breast.
The FCC is pushing for a $558,000 (GBP310,000) fine - $27,900 (GBP15,500) for each of the 20 CBS-owned TV stations that broadcast the indecent incident.
A CBS spokesperson says, "While we regret the incident occurred, and have apologised, we continue to believe that nothing violated indecency laws."06/09/2004 13:59
