Kathleen Turner - Turner Hates The Oscars

Veteran actress KATHLEEN TURNER is relieved her starring role in a London play begins tomorrow (31JAN06) - because it gives her an excuse to avoid the Oscar nominations.

The ROMANCING THE STONE star is preparing for a four month run of WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? in the West End and will be too busy to watch the Academy Awards media circus.

The 51-year-old says, "The ceremony is so boring.

"The best fun I ever had was when I watched the whole shebang on a large flatscreen TV with TOM HANKS.

"We got two rubber dart guns and spent the whole night shooting sucker darts at everyone as they came up on screen.

"I really recommend it. We found it really invigorating. There were round circles all over the screen by the end."
