Travis Axe Japanese Tour

Scottish rockers TRAVIS have been forced to scrap their Japanese tour - after frontman FRAN HEALY was hospitalised with a viral infection.

The WHY DOES IT ALWAYS RAIN ON ME? band were scheduled to play a six-date tour of the Asian nation, beginning tonight (20APR04).

However, after Healy was taken ill following the completion of their European tour earlier this month (APR04), they had to axe the plans.

Their statement reads, "It is with great regret that we must announce the cancellation of the forthcoming Travis tour in Japan.

"Fran was admitted to hospital last weekend suffering from a severe viral infection. Following several days of tests, doctors have advised that Fran is unfit to travel to Japan and needs time to recuperate and receive treatment.

"Travis would like to sincerely apologise to all their fans for any inconvenience this may cause."
