The Simpsons Offer Cornish Residents Hope
Animated TV family THE SIMPSONS have delighted residents of Cornwall, England who are campaigning for independence - by supporting their plight in an upcoming special episode.
Cornwall natives have long demanded they by handed their freedom and be recognised as a separate nation, and their cause will be dealt a major boost this Christmas when outspoken cartoon character LISA screams her approval of their campaign.
Lisa - daughter of HOMER and MARGE - will offer her backing in the Cornish language, announcing, "Rydhsys rag Kernow lemmyn!" whilst waving their black and white flag on the popular show.
Translated, the words mean, "Freedom for Cornwall now!"06/07/2004 02:33
