The Incredibles Wins Animated Battle At The Us Box Office

THE INCREDIBLES are living up to their name in America, netting a staggering $144 million (GBP80 million) at the box office in just 10 days.

The film won the battle of the animated movies yesterday (14NOV04) by claiming a second weekend gross of $51 million (GBP28.3 million) - more than doubling the first weekend total of TOM HANKS' Christmas film THE POLAR EXPRESS, which debuted at number two with a healthy $23.5 million (GBP13 million).

The rest of the top five are all new entries too with PIERCE BROSNAN and SALMA HAYEK's new heist film AFTER THE SUNSET beating sequels BRIDGET JONES: THE EDGE OF REASON and SEED OF CHUCKY to the third spot.
