The Da Vinci Code Banned In Pakistan
Controversial film THE DA VINCI CODE has been banned in Pakistan after officials slammed it as blasphemous and disrespectful to the country's minority Christians. The movie, based on the best-selling novel by DAN BROWN, speculates that JESUS CHRIST and MARY MAGDALENE had children whose descendents are still alive. So far, no screenings of the TOM HANKS-starring film have taken place in Pakistan. SHAHBAZ BHATTI, a prominent Christian leader who believes Brown has "evil intentions", says, "The Da Vinci Code is a sacrilegious act in the guise of freedom of expression and fiction. "It has hurt the religious sentiments of Christians and Muslims throughout the world."
