Telemundo Goes English

Mexico's Telemundo Tv network is adding English subtitles to its top two daytime soaps in a bid to lure more viewers.

The station's PRISIONERA (THE PRISONER) and PASION DE GAVILANES (HIDDEN PASSION) will be available to non-Spanish speaking soap fans later this month (APR04).

The subtitles idea came about after mini-series AMOR DESCARADO scored the network's biggest viewing figures last autumn (03) when it was shown with subtitles.

	hey thanks,it's been a long time coming. while working (nurse assistant)taking care of res. i enjoy the t.v. with my resident, and i enjoy the station as much as he do.now i can watch it on my own now with having to ask him what there saying. thanks for the great idea! keep up the good work.

	Our familys dream just came true!For years now, we have 3 spanish tv. stations. We have enjoyed watching the great programs, but realy felt left out,we just know leval one spanish(formal)if that,Also my daughter and I have been stumped,wanting to know how we could have sub-titles, I promised her I woud try, to get information so my first step was to contact the tv. station and boy, am I glad I did this is the best news ever! 	I have been getting your evening novelas with the English subtitles for quite a while but for the past fews nights there has been no English subtitles. What has happened? I watch Viuda de Blanco, Tierra de Pasiones, and Amores de Mercado. I live in Palo Alto and PLEASE put the English subtitles back---you have many viewers that do not speak Spanish BUT LOVE your novelas.Thank you, CL
