Sutherland's Nightmare Driving Lesson

Actor Kiefer Sutherland has just faced his most frightening task ever - teaching his teenage daughter how to drive.

The 24 star recently decided he'd take 15-year-old SARAH JUDE out on the road to learn the basics of operating a car - but the experience was far more terrifying than he'd anticipated.

He says, "My daughter was working with me on the show right before she went back to school. We were getting up and it was about six o'clock in the morning and I thought, 'This will be a good time for her to learn how to drive on the freeway because there won't be too much traffic.' I was wrong - there was an incredible amount of traffic at about 6:45 in the morning and we were merging from two of the largest freeways in the country.

"She had this habit of looking over her shoulder but as she would do it she'd (turn the wheel abruptly) and sweep straight across four lanes.

"And so here's this guy who's playing this incredibly tough character and I'm like Garfield on the window saying, 'Let me out of this car!'"
