Summer And Bee Gees To Receive New Hall Of Fame Honour
Pioneering disco stars DONNA SUMMER, the BEE GEES and producer GIORGIO MORODER have been selected for induction into the inaugural DANCE MUSIC HALL OF FAME in New York.
The 70s' legends - who will be honoured alongside late singer BARRY WHITE and DJ LARRY LEVAN at a Manhattan ceremony on 20 September (04) - were chosen by a panel of 1,000 dance music professionals.
Board member and TOMMY BOY ENTERTAINMENT founder THOMAS SILVERMAN says, "Since the beginning, the dance music genre has been largely ignored and dismissed by most of the music industry press and other music industry professionals.
"Through the Dance Music Hall of Fame we will be able to give proper credit to these great music industry pioneers."
The music stars will be immortalised at an exhibition at the SPIRIT CLUB.06/09/2004 09:02
