Studdard Headlines Gala For Children

American Idol victor Ruben Studdard headed to New York City's famed Apollo Theater last night (21APR05) to perform in a special gala for fostered and adopted children.

The singer headlined the gala, which was hosted by comedian Tommy Davidson and benefitted the Harlem Dowling-West Side Center.

Studdard said, "My foundation is also for kids, so anything that I can do to help the kids, I'm always with it. They called and asked if I would sing and I'm always willing to lend my hand to worthy cause, so I'm here."
