Storm Slows Down Storm Aid
Country stars Vince Gill, Darryl Worley and AMY GRANT had their concert ravaged by rain and lightning on Tuesday (12AUG03) - during a benefit show for storm victims.
The Jackson, Tennessee, concert, dubbed STORM AID, attracted crowds of 6,000 people and raised approximately $600,000 (GBP375,000), say organisers.
The money will help families devastated by tornadoes that killed 11 people in Madison County and damaged or destroyed nearly 2,000 homes and businesses in Jackson on 4 May (03).
During Worley's performance, a storm system brought ran and lighting, delaying the performances of Gill, Grant and others for about an hour. After the rain stopped, husband and wife team Gill and Grant successfully took to the stage.
