Stones Will Play Hong Kong -Twice

THE ROLLING STONES have rubbished reports they've been dropped from the Hong Kong SARS benefit concert, insisting they'll perform two shows in the country next month (NOV03).

Local promoters organising the gig, which also features NEIL YOUNG, PRINCE and WESTLIFE, yesterday (13OCT03) revealed they had withdrawn their offer to the band over criticism they were being paid too much to appear.

But the Stones tour director MICHAEL COHL insists the show will go on, "We have received the deposit money from Hong Kong and the band's lawyers have a signed contract having concluded negotiations last week.

"This will be the first time in their 40-year history that The Rolling Stones have performed in Hong Kong and they look forward being part of the HARBORFEST FESTIVAL."

The HONG KONG HARBORFEST hopes to attract visitors back to the area after the economic disaster of this year's deadly epidemic, which caused the cancellation of the Stones' planned two gigs in March (03).
