Stone Roses And Happy Mondays Star In Religious Parade
Songs by The Stone Roses and Happy Mondays wowed crowds in the bands' native Manchester, England, on Good Friday (14APR06) when they featured in a religious parade in celebration of Easter.
Oasis track WONDERWALL and The Stone Roses' I AM THE RESURRECTION were sung by actors playing CHRIST and his disciple peter respectively at the televised festival.
Bishop Nigel MCCulloch tells the Manchester Evening News, "Manchester Passion has a sincerity and ability to shock and connect that is not far removed from how it must have been on the first Good Friday."
