Stefani Reassures No Doubt Fans

Rocker Gwen Stefani has reassured No Doubt fans the chart-topping band are not breaking up - they're just taking time out to pursue solo projects.

The platinum blonde is working on her "'80s inspired retro dance album" and has filmed a cameo as Jean Harlow in the forthcoming Howard Hughes biopic The Aviator.

Stefani explains, "I thought it would be a good publicity stunt to say we were breaking up, but really we're not.

"We decided after our album ROCK STEADY that we were going to take some time apart to pursue independent projects. And I really wanted to do a movie."

Stefani admits she is amused by the amount of media attention her small role in the film in receiving.

She says, "It's very small. I was only shooting for four or five days so I'll barely be on screen for two minutes, which is so hilarious, because they're making it sound like I'm the star of the movie."
