Stars Gather To Pay Tribute To Wilson

LATEST: PHYLICIA RASHAD, CHARLES DUTTON and WYNTON MARSALIS are among the large number of mourners who gathered to pay tribute to AUGUST WILSON at his funeral on Saturday (08OCT05).

Rashad and Dutton read from Wilson's plays, while jazz trumpeter Marsalis played DANNY BOY at the service, which was held in the playwright's hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where many of his plays were set.

Wilson died in Seattle, Washington, on 1 October (05), just four months after he was diagnosed with advanced stage liver cancer. He was 60.
