Stars Donate To Hillary's Campaign

A galaxy of Hollywood stars, including Paul Newman, Reese Witherspoon and Nancy Sinatra, have donated thousands of dollars to US Senator Hillary Clinton's political campaign.

Clinton, who is fundraising for the Democratic party, intends to use the money, which now stands at an impressive $17.1 million (GBP9 million), for a presidential bid.

Newman and his wife Joanne Woodward both donated $2,000 (GBP1,135), while Walk the Line beauty REESE WITHERSPOON gave $1000 (GBP570) alongside Edie Falco and DANNY DeVITO, according to the New York Post.

Chat-show host Jerry Springer gave the most to the cause - $4200 (GBP2,400) - while NANCY SINATRA gave a modest $200 (GBP110).

So what - they have opinions - they are Americans. They can support whomever they choose, if you done like it don't see their movies - don't buy their products. The fact that you guys think you can control democracy is insane and silly....not to mention very high-hatted of you all.Geez, a big request coming from a bunch of nobodies....

And I wouldn't call her a lightweight, she's very much a socialist, that's hardly lightweight. This is why these wingnuts are so po'ed about her.

You are right, he was never "the standard", but using her looks as a determination of the validity of her candidacy? That's silly, but I guess allowing Rush Limbaugh or Neal Boortz to influence you rather than Hollywood might do this...

I love that we are free to support the cause and person of choice. My question is what do you see in Hillary Clinton that would inspire you to support her for this position at this (or any other) time. This is not a partisan comment - I think for the office of President, she is a real light weight. This is not questioning direction. It is a question of aptitude. And please don't let your answer be a simple comparison with George Bush - he is not the standard.

Halliburton is a blessing to the United States of America and anyone who thinks that "Halliburton" equals some sort of scandal is clueless as to the history of the company, and/or is not sophisticated as to how goods and services are delivered. Halliburton is an excellent outsource auxilliary. HALLIBURTON ALLOWS THE US TO BE BATTLE READY AND EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS READY so that we are the envy of the world. HALLIBURTON SAVES TAXPAYERS MONEY. As goods and services are needed, it is cheaper to outsource to a private company rather than expecting the government to be prepared at all times. EVERY SINGLE U.S. ADMINISTRATION HAS RELIED ON HALLIBURTON SINCE ITS INCEPTION.When Clinton contracted with Halliburton, the Democrats were silent. When Carter contracted with Halliburton, the Democrats were silent. When Johnson contracted with Halliburton, the Democrats were silent. When Kennedy contracted with Halliburton, the Democrats were silent. When Truman contracted with Halliburton, the Democrats were silent. When Roosevelt contracted with Halliburton, the Democrats were silent. Are we supposed to believe that for the 40 years that the Democrats controlled the House, and when they were in the White House, that they were contracting with "honest" Halliburton, but that Republican presidents and the Republican House only deal with "crooked" Halliburton? That is ridiculous! It is ONLY when Republicans are in the White House that the name Halliburton comes up. That is because Democrats believe that people are fools and will believe any lie. Republicans are more sophisticated than that. They believe that people are intelligent and understand how goods and services are delivered.
