Springsteen Helps Efforts To Wipe Out Hunger
Rocker Bruce Springsteen joined the battle against hunger on Thursday night (21APR05), when he donated all of the proceeds from a tour rehearsal show to charity.
The cash raised from the Asbury Park, New Jersey, gig has been handed to WORLD HUNGER YEAR (Why).
The star has long been a supporter of the organisation, which was co-founded in 1975 by late singer-songwriter HARRY CHAPIN and BILL AYRES, a radio talk show host who is now WHY's executive director.
Ayres says, "Bruce has always been very good to us. He's a good friend to WHY."
