Sony's Pascal Voted Most Powerful
Sony PICTURES co-chairman Amy Pascal is the most powerful woman in entertainment, according to influential trade paper the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER.
The publication has placed Pascal, who is also head of COLUMBIA PICTURES, at the top of their WOMEN IN ENTERTAINMENT POWER 100 LIST after she oversaw box office smashes including Spiderman, DADDY DAYCARE and Bad Boys 2.
Pascal has taken the title off Paramount chairman Sherry Lansing, who only managed number four in the list this year (03).
The issue's editor CHRISTY GROSZ explains, "Not only has the studio hit the $5 billion mark globally for the second straight year, but the filmmaking risks Amy Pascal takes often translate into box office success, which is a great barometer for power in Hollywood."
The full top ten is as follows:
1. AMY PASCAL, SONY
