Sony Gives 12-Year-Old $3.6 Million Deal

Record giants Sony have awarded a 12-year-old boy a staggering $3.6 million (GBP2 million) four-album deal - 20 times more than Charlotte Church was offered when she was his age.

Joseph McManners, of Kent, England, is tipped to be the next singing phenomenon to hit the charts with his upcoming album DREAMS.

And although he has never had a music lesson, McManners has wowed Sony with his impressive voice and songwriting prowess.

He says, "I'd be crazy not to take advantage of an opportunity like this.

"But I don't think about the money, I just sing."

Looking at labels these days, it looks like Sony made a heck of a deal signing this kid! He make headlines for sure, and look out for a movie deal after his first album is released. As a matter of fact, he should do a song with my artist, DaWan of StoneAge Survivors Entertainment. That would be AWESOME MUSIC ! More info on DaWan at StoneAgeOnline dot com.

That's why they call it show BUSINESS. The company is in it for the money. All artists should take a moment to learn about the business of entertainment. I'm not saying go to law school, but read some of the stuff that's out there. This way when they sit down to sign papers with their attorney, the artist will have some sense of what is going on.I left the music industry to work in the film industry. It's the same thing there. But this time I have some sense of how much I'm getting screwed and what it's costing them to screw me.
