Smith: Tommy Lee Jones Is 'Hilarious'

WILL SMITH has leapt to the defence of his MEN IN BLACK co-star TOMMY LEE JONES - insisting the film veteran's 'grumpy' persona is just an act for the media.

The HITCH hunk saw a different side to the inscrutable actor when they went out together in New York.

Smith enthuses, "He's hilarious. The gruff old grumpy guy is his character for the media to get people to ask smart questions.

"If you see him on down-time, he's really funny."
