Smith Proud Of I, Robot's Story Success

Hollywood actor Will Smith has explained the secret of how I, ROBOT became one of the smash hits of the summer (04) - it had an "intriguing" story.

Smith, who has starred in a series of summer spectaculars including Independence Day, Men In Black and flop wild wild west, believes audiences in 2004 want more from action movies than expensive special effects.

He says, "In the past you could have just a lot of explosions and there's a successful movie.

"What we've had in I, Robot is a truly, deep, emotional and intriguing movie and then we layered in the special effects."
