Sinatra Embarrassed By Simpson Cover Version

Nancy Sinatra was unimpressed with Jessica Simpson's version of her song THESE BOOTS ARE MADE FOR WALKIN', even though the reality TV star had received help from Sinatra' daughter in arranging the vocals.

The song featured on the soundtrack to action comedy flick The Dukes of Hazzard, and is performed by Simpson who also plays DAISY DUKE in the movie.

Sinatra's daughter AJ AZZARTO admits that her mother would have done things differently.

She says, "I helped Jessica put it together because one of my capacities in working with my family is working on the rights of the songs.

"They wanted to use a sample of the bass line and my mom has met Jessica so decided to help her.

"I think it wasn't quite the way mom would have liked it - not the same speed."

Times are changing, and while Sinatra's version is and always will be a classic, there is nothing wrong with updating the song to appeal to a different, YOUNGER audience. I think Jessica did a great job and embarassed is the last thing Ms. Sinatra should be. Jessica may have done it "different" than Ms. Sinatra would have, but what is wrong with being different, I mean did they honestly expect her to do it the way Nancy had or would have done it?

I don't blame Nancy Sinatra for being embarrassed by Jessica's version of "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'".Nancy version is much sexier simply by the combination of innocence and a sexy attitude. You don't have to wash a car with your breasts to make this song enjoyable.Nancy set the pace for the "women's lib" of music, although she says she wasn't aware of it at the time. Those who followed, such as Madonna who credited her with part of her sound and used to pretend to be Nancy, have her to thank for paving the way and walking that bumpy road, and yes, she did it ih her BOOTS.
