Sideways Shocks The Sags

Wine-drinking comedy Sideways stunned Hollywood last night (05FEB05) when it claimed the big prize at the 11th annual Screen Actors Guild AWARDS.

The film's stars, Virginia Madsen, Paul Giamatti and Thomas Haden Church, were overlooked in their individual categories but took to the stage at the Shrine Auditorium with co-star Sandra Oh to pick up the Outstanding Ensemble in a Motion Picture award.

Meanwhile, in a very spread prizegiving, boxing movie Baby">Million Dollar Baby and hit TV show Desperate Housewives were the only double winners.

The list of winners is:

Outstanding Female Actor in a TV Movie/Miniseries - Glenn Close (THE LION IN WINTER) Outstanding Male Actor in a TV Movie/Miniseries - Geoffrey Rush (THE LIFE + DEATH OF PETER SELLERS) Outstanding Female Actor in a Supporting Role - Cate Blanchett (The Aviator) Outstanding Male Actor in a Comedy Series - Tony Shalhoub (MONK) Outstanding Female Actor in a Comedy Series - Teri Hatcher (DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES)

Oustanding Ensemble in a Comedy Series - DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES

Lifetime Achievement Award - James Garner

Outstanding Male Actor in a Supporting Role - Morgan Freeman (MILLION DOLLAR BABY) Outstanding Female Actor in a Drama Series - Jennifer Garner (ALIAS)

Outstanding Male Actor in a Drama Series - Jerry Orbach

Oustanding Ensemble in a Drama Series - CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION

Outstanding Female Actor in a Leading Role - Hilary Swank (MILLION DOLLAR BABY) Outstanding Male Actor in a Leading Role - Jamie Foxx (Ray)
