Seven Arrested For Destroying Branson's Land
LATEST: Seven vandals have been arrested for causing $76,000 (GBP40,000) damage to SIR RICHARD BRANSON's English country estate last month (MAY05) by running amok in the entrepreneur's fleet of diggers and dumper trucks.
The gang hot-wired Branson's heavy machinery and went on the rampage in the grounds of his 200-acre (80-hectare) Kidlington, Oxfordshire, estate, where they crashed into each other, dug a giant hole, uprooted trees and drove into a bridge.
VIRGIN boss Branson was away on business in South Africa when the night-time attack occurred, but was devastated to discover the troublemakers had destroyed 10 years of his gardener IAN PEARSON's hard work.
Police arrested a 14-year-old boy, two 15-year-olds, three aged 16 and one 20-year-old man. They have been bailed until 5 July (05).02/06/2005 03:58
