Scorsese Wants To Direct Smaller Films
16 December 2004Goodfellas director Martin Scorsese is hoping to return to making movies on a smaller budget with "name stars", after his multi-million dollar latest film The Aviator.
Although the film-maker, 62, concedes working with top billing actors on less epic projects affects the film's financial costs - he believes the essence of the flick still remains the same.
Scorsese says, "I am trying to pursue those kind of projects.
"I think you can make a smaller-scale film and still work with 'name stars'.
"It changes the budget a bit, but still the concept of the movie can be strong and tough and tight and compact - which is what I'm hoping for in my next film."
