Schwarzenegger Bans Necrophilia

Actor-turned-politician ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER has made necrophilia officially illegal in California.

The Governor of California was disgusted the state's first attempt to outlaw sex with corpses - in response to a man charged with penetrating a dead four-year-old girl in Southern California last year (03) - was stalled, so pushed through the legislation on Friday (10SEP04) to make the felony punishable by up to eight years in prison.

Santa Clara University School of Law's Professor TYLER OCHOA says, "Nobody knows the full extent of the problem... But a handful of instances over the past decade is frequent enough to have a bill concerning it.

"Prosecutors didn't have anything to charge these people with other than breaking and entering. But if they worked in a mortuary in the first place, prosecutors couldn't even charge them with that."
