Ryder: 'Bez Was Perfect For Big Brother'

Happy Mondays wildman Shaun Ryder insists his wayward bandmate BEZ handled British reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother perfectly - because he was compelling to watch.

Bez, real name MARK BERRY, triumphed on the voyeuristic programme earlier this year (JAN05), despite his fears he would be the first to be ousted.

Ryder says, "I hate those shows. The only time I ever have a gander is when there are celebrities on, to see who's a k**bhead in real life.

"Bez thought he was going to get voted out straight away, but that was never going to happen - if you're a character, people are gonna want you to stay in the show."
