Russell Slams 'Scumbag' Gibson
Flamboyant British filmmaker Ken Russell has launched a scathing attack on Mel Gibson's THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST - calling the controversial director a "scumbag".
The WOMEN IN LOVE star believes the film about the last 12 hours of JESUS CHRIST's life - which has proved a massive box office success around the globe - gives a false representation of the BIBLE.
He rants, "He made a film on the American Revolution (The Patriot) and showed the British burning down a church full of women and children. We never did it!
"What's this guy doing? People will believe this is what happened and they'd be wrong."
