Rowland's Ex Talks About Marriage Fears

The American football star who called off his engagement to former DESTINY'S CHILD star KELLY ROWLAND has spoken for the first time about the reasons behind their split. Dallas Cowboys star ROY WILLIAMS had hoped his decision to ask his fiancee to slow their whirlwind romance down before they wed would not lead to the end of the relationship, but accepts he was admonished for doing the "grown-up thing". Williams tells US women's magazine Vibe Vixen he realised his romance with the SURVIVOR singer was moving too fast when he sat down to fill out a pre-marriage getting-to-know-your-mate questionnaire and realised he didn't really know anything about his bride-to-be. He recalls, "I sat her down on the bed and said, 'Kelly, we don't know each other well enough to get married. "At the time, she was cool with it, but I ended up catching a lot of heat for doing the grown-up thing." Rowland admits Williams' decision to postpone their nuptials left her really embarrassed - she had just posed in a wedding gown for the cover of Modern Bride magazine. She tells Vibe Vixen, "I was so embarrassed. I didn't even want to go out of the house and I really didn't want to put my family in the position of having to answer questions about the wedding."

	The "grown-up" thing to do would have been to never ask her in the first place. I can believe that was quite embarassing and I can believe it was costly for her as well! That is not the way to slow down a relationship. A grown up would have known that he needed to know her favorite smells and colors, etc. However, a boy pretending to be a man would not think about it until he realizes at the last minute he does not know his future bride. Also, women love completely and we make it our business to KNOW our men as best we can so it probably wasn't that 'they' didn't know each other but more like HE didn't know HER. I bet she knew him very well! Afterall, she is a beautiful black woman and she knows it so she don't have to settle for the first ring shoved in her face. I wish her all the luck. women stop hating on one another and start standing up for each other. he was wrong as two left shoes! that is all!

	I agree with the brother also. I mean I understand that she was embrassed, but better be embrassed now then 2-3 months later they head for divorce court. He didnt call off the wedding, he just said that they should take it slow and get to know each other better. She is the one who called it off. That was the grown up thing to do. I would be hurt at first, but after I thought about it, I would have come around. She shouldnt listen to her family or friends when it comes to this. They are not the ones who would have to live with him after the wedding. When he cheats because he wasnt ready. She should be thanking him for not getting married when he really wasnt ready.

	I think the brother did the right thing. First of all, marriage is commitment to another person to what I would think of as life. Yes Ms Rowland may be embarrassed because of a picture, but what if she got married and six months down the line, she was divorced. Which one is the most embarrassing???My brother did the right thing, and I commend him.
