Rowland Looks To The Future

DEXY'S MIDNIGHT RUNNERS frontman KEVIN ROWLAND is a rarity amongst older popstars - he doesn't think the 'good old days' were better than today's music scene.

The COME ON EILEEN singer believes things are much the same now as they were in the early 1980s when his band hit the big time - and even envies some of today's young popstars.

He says, "Part of me envies the POP STARS kids. I wish I could have done what they do, go out smiling and sing every note in tune.

"I don't think, 'Oh, it's awful now and it was much better then.' There was middle of the road music then too - TIGHT FIT, AGADOO, THE NOLANS."
