Roseanne Prepares For Reality Battle

Funnywoman Roseanne Barr is gearing up for a ratings war when her new reality show airs this summer (03) - because she's in direct competition with fly-on-the-wall favourite Big Brother.

American TV network ABC has given THE REAL ROSEANNE SHOW an airing slot of 9pm on Wednesdays from 6 August (03) - putting it in battle with the fourth season of rival station CBS' reality hit Big Brother and Fox's newcomer PARADISE HOTEL.

The other series will have been on air for at least a month when Roseanne's show hits screens.

Roseanne's reality programme, which has the advantage of comedy to lure viewers, will end in September (03), when her new cooking and variety show begins.
