Ronnie Wood Packages Prized Art Pieces For Collectors
ROLLING STONES guitarist RONNIE WOOD has packaged a range of his best artwork for a special collector portfolio.
The rocker-turned-artist recently impressed critics so much that he was given the chance to showcase his work - including paintings of bandmates SIR MICK JAGGER, KEITH RICHARDS and CHARLIE WATTS - at Los Angeles' prestigious Gallery 319.
And he's now decided to share some of his most prized art in a special new collection, including paintings of landscapes, wildlife and a nude.
But one of the most personal pieces is Wood's painting of JIMI HENDRIX, which captures the late rocker's legendary moment at California's Monterey Pop festival where he set his guitar on fire.
Wood says, "I used to share a flat with him in Holland Park (London). Jimi gave me a basset hound once and that's how I got thrown out of the flat.
"He was very generous. He gave me my first copy of BB KING LIVE."
