Rodriguez To Make Screen Version Of Princess Of Mars

Film-maker Robert Rodriguez has signed up to direct a movie version of EDGAR RICE BURROUGHS' science fiction classic PRINCESS OF MARS.

The project is based on the first book in Burroughs' 11-book series JOHN CARTER OF MARS, which is based on Civil War officer JOHN CARTER, a man from Virginia who is transported to Mars and finds himself a captive of the savage green aliens from Thark.

Carter eventually becomes a great and respected warrior, marries DEJAH THORIS, raises a family and embarks on a long list of adventures.

Spy Kids director Rodriguez will work on Princess of Mars once filming has wrapped on the movie Sin City.
